Review the whole cycle
An unsuccessful cycle does not always mean something went wrong. Still, it is useful to review stimulation response, egg maturity, fertilization, embryo development, transfer details, uterine lining, and medication adherence.
Sometimes the next cycle changes dose, protocol, lab technique, embryo transfer timing, or whether to freeze all embryos.
Ask focused questions
Useful questions include: Were egg numbers as expected? Did fertilization match the lab’s expectations? How did embryos develop? Was the lining suitable? Are any additional tests justified?
Not every test helps every patient. A good review avoids unnecessary add-ons while addressing clear concerns.
Emotional recovery matters
Taking time to process disappointment and plan the next step can make treatment more manageable.
