Sperm Freezing

Semen freezing involves collecting semen samples and storing them in liquid nitrogen at extremely low temperatures. This method helps preserve sperm cell viability so they remain healthy and functional for years to come in order to restore fertility.

Short-term semen freezing stores semen samples for up to a maximum of 3 months. This package is usually recommended for patients who want to freeze semen for a short period, such as for an IUI treatment cycle, when the male partner will not be available to provide a fresh sample on the day of procedure, or when a couple wants to freeze an additional semen sample not included in the treatment package.

Long-term semen freezing stores semen samples for up to a maximum of 1 year. This package is often selected by patients who want to preserve fertility for a longer period because of lifestyle changes, medical or surgical reasons, cancer treatment, or similar circumstances.

Inclusions include semen preparation before freezing, media and consumable charges, laboratory charges, hospital charges, and a detailed report showing semen parameters and storage details of the sample.

Laboratory investigations and drugs, if applicable, are not included. For laboratory investigations, patients may complete testing with another registered diagnostic laboratory when financially feasible.

Patients should note that renewable charges apply at the end of storage terms. Renewable charges are based on the long-term package rate for storage up to 1 year.
